The event will take place on May 25-28 celebrating the life and legacy of Italy’s greatest poet Dante Alighieri. September 13, 2021, will mark the 700th anniversary of Sommo Poeta’s death at age 56. “This event represents a testament to Dante’s continuing influence and profound intellectual legacy. As one of the great poets of the age, Dante Alighieri deserves recognition for the intellectual impact that took place at that time”, said Marco Filippeschi, mayor of Pisa

“This event represents a community-based collaboration that can promote cultural heritage. It highlights the role of culture to people and society, demonstrating how arts and culture contribute to social and economic growth. Let me quote the Sant’Anna deputy rector, an expert in constitutional law, Professor Emanuele Rossi’s own words: we can actually make cultura spettacolare and spettacolo culturale”, said Paolo Mancarella, rector of the University of Pisa.

The Sant’Anna School also organized the workshop “Dante nella cultura giuridica del suo tempo” on May 25 at 4.00 pm.. Keynote speakers include: Franziska Meier, professor of Romance Languages and Literatures; Mario Montorzi and Diego Quaglioni, professors of History of Medieval and Modern law.
