The second part of the training program which will be held in Yaoundé, on June 5-7, 2017, is a “training of trainers” initiative. The program is aimed to train a group of trainers, judges and magistrates, on promoting and protecting Human Rights. The course is co-sponsored by ENAM (École Nationale d’Administration et de Magistrature du Camerun) and by the Ministry of Justice of Cameroon.

The second session of the course is coordinated by Andrea de Guttry, professor of international law, director of Sant’Anna School Dirpolis Institute (Law, Politics, Development). 25 attendees were chosen by the Ministry of Justice of Cameroon and 5 by the École Nationale d’Administration et de Magistrature du Camerun.

The 3-day training-of-trainers is aimed at judges and magistrates to create a community based on law and on respect for human rights. It will focus on international cooperation in the field of crisis management and on a comprehensive introduction to the rule of law from theory to practical applications.

The course is taught by Andrea de Guttry and leading academics from Cameroon through lessons learned technique and best practice examples from conflict-affected states.

“This training initiative - said Professor Andrea de Guttry - confirmed Sant’Anna School’s active role and welcomes the opportunity to further strengthen its cooperation with Cameroon. Sant’Anna School has offered didactic support to initiatives aimed at encouraging reconciliation and the respect of human rights”.
