Sant’Anna School confirmed its reputation as a hotbed of talent. PhD student in Political Science, European Politics and International Relations Luigi Cino received the jury special mention for the “Italia Giovane” award and a mobility grant offered by the European Academy of Yuste Foundation aimed at 10 PhD students across Europe, Latin America and Mediterranean countries.

The European Academy of Yuste doctorate scholarships 2017 pay tribute to Professor Sofia Corradi - ‘Mamma Erasmus’ (awarded in 2016 at the presence of King Felipe VI of Spain) in recognition of her life-long contribution enhancing the cultural, social, scientific and historical values of Europe. The “Carlos V European Award” will fund 10 mobility grants to contribute - in the words of Sofia Corradi “to the promotion of an integrated and improved Europe”. Luigi Cino, focused on the Academy of Yuste 2017 research subject “Peace and European Value as a Potential Model for Integration and Progress in a Global World” and participated in the Carlos V European Award Doctoral Seminar in July 2017.

The “Italia Giovane” award, under the auspices of the “Presidency of the Italian Republic”, recognizes the outstanding talent of ten young Italian researchers. This year, the fourth edition of “Italia Giovane” award recognizes individual professional merit. Luigi Cino received an honourable mention from the Selection Committee chaired by former Minister Franco Frattini for high achievements and expertise in his field.

Upon recommendation of the Selection Committee, Luigi Cino has been selected to attend the "International Studies Association” (ISA) annual convention in San Francisco, April 2018.
