MYHAND - Myoelectric-Hand prosthesis with Afferent Non-invasive feedback Delivery

MY-HAND is the name of an early career grant (FIRB 2010) earned by Dr. Cipriani in 2011, funded by the Italian Ministry for Education, University and Research between March 2012 and September 2015, with 320 k€. The goal of MY-HAND was to develop a robotic prosthesis with sensory feedback in order to recover the functionality of an amputated hand using non-invasive, wearable technologies. During the project the team at the AHA developed a novel robust artificial hand characterized by smart miniaturized mechanisms, low weight and functional dexterity. This hand is currently being further developed and exploited by Prensilia, within the DeTOP European grant. MY-HAND also supported research activities pertaining to non-invasive myoelectric control and sensory feedback, as shown by the publications below.
