28 ADDITIONAL POSITIONS ON THE TOPICS OF INNOVATION AND GREEN. READ THE CALL FOR MORE INFO


A new call is open with 28 additional positions in order to award scholarships for Ph.D. courses on the topics of Innovation or Green, linked to sustainable and inclusive development, with particular attention to defense of biodiversity, reduction of the impact of climate change, diffusion of the circular economy, promotion of sustainable development.

In the wake of the table of confronts with the Italian Minister of University and Research held on September 17th about the application of Ministerial Decree no. 1061/2021, the additional scholarships  cannot be assigned  to carry out 4-year-Ph.D. programs; therefore, the Ph.D. in Economics and the Ph.D. in Agrobiodiversity are excluded.


The Ph.D. Programmes at the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna are designed for talented graduates from around the world, who wish to carry out study and research in an international campus based in Pisa. Ph.D. students at the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna are supervised by tutors in a personalized program to make the most of your potential and to guide you towards a future full of success, whatever profession you may decide on.

For the academic year 2021/2022, there are 55 positions for Ph.D. students covered with a corresponding number of scholarships, funded by the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, by the Ministero dell'Istruzione, dell'Università e della Ricerca (MIUR), and by external public and private bodies. The number of positions and scholarships will increase if additional funds are made available, before the start of courses.The number of position is increased with 28 additional positions in order to award scholarships for Ph.D. courses on the topics of Innovation or Green in implementation of Italian Ministerial Decree no. 1061/2021, on FSE REACT-EU funding in the framework of PON “Ricerca e Innovazione” 2014-2020 (Azione IV.4 e
Azione IV.5).

If you are not an Italian resident and wish to take part in the competitive selection, you must already have, or achieve by October 31, 2021, a M.Sc. degree that has been declared as being equivalent by the Italian authorities or recognized as being equivalent in terms of duration and content to the Italian degree.

In order to participate in the application process, candidates must:

  • register online
  • choose the PhD Course
  • upload documents required (documents required are listed in the call)

The Ph.D. courses will begin on October 1, 2021 and on Decembee 1, 2021 for the 28 additional positions.
