Campus tours, 41 inspirational talks and topical seminars, in addition to interactive stands run three weeks - from June 26-29 at Sant’Anna, July 2-6 at Normale Conservatorio di Santa Chiara in San Miniato, July 9-13 at IUSS Pavia.
The open days and events, jointly organized by the three higher education institutions, are an excellent opportunity for prospective students to explore their options through information sessions on residence, interdisciplinary education, admission and finance before choosing colleges.
To gain a fuller flavor of the facilities and courses on offer, the talented prospective students will be given tours of the three Colleges. They will be able to talk to 112 faculty, staff, professionals and current students about undergraduate life and what it is really like to study a certain subject, focus on research activities and get thinking about what they really want from their future.
Literature, Arts and Sciences, Constitutional Law, Healthcare and Innovation, Earth and Space science subjects’ tutors will be available to talk to prospective applicants about admissions procedures, and study at Sant'Anna School, Normale and IUSS. Alumni Valeria Spinosa (now a judge at Tribunale di Padova) and Ugo Faraguna (currently teaching at University of Pisa), together with Andrea Zorzi (one of the best players in world volleyball) and Giuliano Amato (giving the closing remarks) will answer questions about talent, motivation and career development opportunities.
The Sant'Anna School, Normale and IUSS Prospective Students Summer Programs can help highly engaged applicants to initiate meaningful interactions to participate in college life, satisfy their curiosity and discover how to prepare for their future.
The Luigi Orsenigo award ceremony will bring the three-week event to a close. In remembrance of Luigi Orsenigo, Professor of Economics at IUSS, who left us soon but left a valuable legacy, Sant'Anna School, Normale and IUSS will pay tribute to his work for the institutions consortium. The Sant'Anna School, Normale and IUSS Prospective Students attending the Summer Program were invited to describe their experience for an Instagram contest. “The students’ enthusiasm and students’ thinking will emphasize the importance of his understanding as part of the teacher education process and the college environment” said the university representatives who sit on the Board and are responsible for overseeing the Prospective Students Summer Program activities.
