The rise and fall of the Brazilian economy

The Institute of Economics will hold an event as part of its Seminar Series on Wednesday, November 3, 2021: Laura Carvalho from the University of Sao Paulo will discuss her book "Valsa Brasileira" and a stream of subsequent research addressing the economic and political dynamics that shaped Brazil during the last three decades. Prof. Carvalho will shed light on how Brazil moved from the economic boom of the 2000s to the election of the president Jair Bolsonaro and a deep economic crisis with surging inequalities. 

Andrea Roventini from the Institute of Economics will discuss the presentation.
