Sara Giovanna Mauro

She graduated in Management and Governance, English-language curriculum in Accounting and Governance at the University of Siena in 2012 (December), and got a Ph.D. in Management at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in 2016 (November). She studied abroad at the UCC - University College Cork (Ireland) and New Jersey Institute of Technology (USA), and has research experiences abroad at the University of Tampere (Finland) and Kristianstad University (Sweden). She is currently a Post-doctoral Research Fellow. Her main research interests are in performance measurement and management, public sector budgeting, and co-production of public services.

Recent research projects:

• "The digital side of universities: an international comparative analysis of performance measurement systems". Project financed by EURAM, European Academy of Management. The research team is composed by Sara Giovanna Mauro and Lino Cinquini (Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna) and Hanne Nørreklit (Aarhus University)
• “Accountability patterns and performance measurement in the co-production of public services”. Project financed by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). The research team is composed by Cristina Campanale (Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, Italy), Lino Cinquini (Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, Italy), Giuseppe Grossi (Kristianstad University, Sweden), Sara Giovanna Mauro, and Alessandro Sancino (Open University, UK).
• “Changing Cost and Performance Management Systems to enable business Servitization and improve competitiveness of Italian manufacturing SMEs”. Project financed by the Ministry of education, university and research in Italy. Duration: 36 months. Partner Universities: Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna (Pisa, Italy), University of Florence (Florence, Italy), University of Pisa (Pisa, Italy).
