The Institute of Management and the Institute of Economics have won a national selection launched by the Italian Ministry for University and Research (MIUR) which has identified a number of "Departments of Excellence" in Italy. The two institutes have presented a joint project with a string emphasis on the use of Big Data in both management and economics. The project will last for five years, starting from March 2018. The director of the project is Prof. Francesca Chiaromonte (Institute of Economics). From the management side, both Prof. Andrea Piccaluga (a.piccaluga@santannapisa.it) and Prof. Fabio Iraldo (f.iraldo@santannapisa.it) sit in the project's Managing Board.
