The Italian extra virgin olive oil is regarded as the best olive oil in the world. To enhance this positive public image and to strength the olive oil industry and the position of Italian olive oil sector in world markets, the EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil) Days event will be held in Verona (Veronafiere) on February 20-21, 2017.
Professor Luca Sebastiani, director of Sant’Anna School Life Sciences Institute, has been invited at the EVOO Days to give a talk on “Olive growing and production: agronomic best practices” on Monday 20 at 9.45 am. The EVOO Days event is co-sponsored by the Italian National Academy for Olive and Olive Oil and the Accademia dei Georgofili.
The EU is a global leader in olive production. The olive sector is particularly important in southern countries, where it represents a significant share of the agricultural economy. The EVOO Days four sessions will provide participants with latest study results to improve the quality of olive oil production, to strengthen the “made in Italy” oil quality, to improve the labelling and marketing standards and to strengthen olive oil authenticity parameters. The EVOO Days will gather worldwide experts (from Spain, Japan, Taiwan, USA and Morocco) working in the field of olive oil industry.
