Opening of the first round of applications for the "European and International Human Rights Standards in Disaster Settings" (EIHRSDS) Higher Education course
The III edition of the course is scheduled for June 2023. How to participate
Registration is now open, until Tuesday, May 9, 2023 (Round I) and Tuesday, June 6, 2023 (Round II), for the Higher Education course "European and International Human Rights Standards in Disaster Settings" (EIHRSDS). The training is organized as part of a Jean Monnet Module, co-funded by the European Union and chaired by Emanuele Sommario, professor at the DIRPOLIS (Law, Politics, Development) Institute of the Sant'Anna School.
The program aims to provide a sound knowledge of the legal frameworks and principal actors relevant to disaster prevention and response activities, raise awareness on the critical role of human rights in disaster settings, and favour a more human rights-sensitive approach to disaster management.
The course is open to students, research fellows and professionals working on civil protection issues for national and international organisations, NGOs and other actors active in this field (IFRC, national red cross societies, etc.).
