SDG 13: Climate action

SDG 13

Sustainable Development Goal 13 aims to take urgent action to combat climate change and its effects. Climate change is a serious threat to the planet and human societies, with significant impacts on the environment, health, the economy, and security.

To achieve this goal, specific targets have been set, including:

  • Take urgent action to combat climate change and its effects, as agreed upon under the Paris Agreement.
  • Raise awareness and education on climate action.
  • Strengthen resilience and adaptive capacity to climate-related hazards and natural disasters in all countries.
  • Implement the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, Kyoto Protocol, Paris Agreement and subsequent global climate agreements.
  • Promote mechanisms for the implementation of effective knowledge management and exchange in all countries, including, inter alia, through international cooperation.
