Dirpolis Istg About
The School of International Studies of the University of Trento and the Dirpolis Institute of the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna offer an Integrated Graduate Program in International Studies and Transnational Governance.
The program develops its curriculum in coordination with international partner universities, through flexible mobility schemes designed for both students and faculty members. Both the School of International Studies and the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna have a solid tradition of welcoming and integrating international students, helping them in their living and studying conditions in Trento and Pisa. The new program in transnational governance aims at attracting strongly motivated and well prepared students.
The Integrated Graduate Program in Pisa is open to a limited number of students (max 10) who have successfully completed their first year of the Master’s Degree in European and International Studies (MEIS) at the School of International Studies in Trento. Selected students (selection is conducted each spring) have the opportunity to spend a year at the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna and its international partner institutions. The activities offered by the two institutions allow participating students to complete the required 120 credits (ECTS) in order to receive the MEIS diploma from School of International Studies in Trento in addition to the Graduate Diploma in Transnational Governance from the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna. This latter diploma will be conferred only under the condition that the student maintains a grade-point average no lower than 27/30 and gains extra 6 ECTS through specially offered courses and activities which change every year.
The main ISTG objective is to form professionals with a broad international framework and interdisciplinary training and research skills in internationalization processes, international relations, global politics, European affairs and sub-national institutions. Graduates of the Integrated Graduate Program in International Studies and Transnational Governance (ISTG) can work in international organizations, non-governmental organizations, European institutions, and national, regional and sub-national institutions. Other work opportunities can be in multinational corporations, consultancy, lobbying sectors, as well as in journalism and in the area of education and research.
