Bio

Marybelle Cherfan is undertaking a PhD in Human Rights, Global Politics, and Sustainability at the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies (SSSA), Italy, while concurrently serving as the Program Coordinator for the Master of Electoral Policy and Administration at the same institution. Before these roles, she trained on migration, human rights, gender, and ICT for the Lebanese General Security, addressing military and civil service trainees. Additionally, she undertook a Training of Trainers (TOT) program at the International Center for Migration Policy Development, specializing in Gender Issues and Border Management. Beyond this, Marybelle has a diverse background, having worked as an LMS coordinator, facilitator, instructional designer, and translator. She also briefly engaged in lecturing in Economic Statistics at the USJ University. Her academic qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Economic and Social Administration from Montpellier 1, France, a Master's degree in Digital Economy and Web Sciences from Saint Joseph University, Lebanon, and a Master's degree in Human Rights and Conflict Management from SSSA, Italy.

Ricerca

Marybelle Cherfan is actively engaged in a series of research endeavours spanning various multidisciplinary fields. Currently, at the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna in Pisa, she is conducting research for her PhD on "Leveraging Artificial Intelligence in the Pre-Electoral Phase to Foster Electoral Integrity: A Human Rights Perspective." Earlier, her work at the same institution delved into "Electoral Integrity in the Digital Age: ICTs as a Double-Edged Sword in the Pre-Electoral Phase." Her studies in digital economy and web science at Saint-Joseph University, Lebanon, broadened her research interests, particularly in the realm of e-government roadmaps and digital transformation. Additionally, during her specialized training with the International Centre for Migration Policy Development, Marybelle was involved in research activities that addressed the needs of vulnerable categories, emphasizing the development of customized courses, to effectively navigate complex border management challenges.
