INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH, THE PROJECT SUBMITTED BY THE SANT'ANNA SCHOOL OF ADVANCED STUDIES JOINTLY WITH THE CONSORTIUM OF EELISA EUROPEAN UNIVERSITY GET FUNDED TO PROMOTE TRAINING IN INNOVATION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP FOR STUDENTS

The Scuola Normale Superiore and the Sant’Anna School in Pisa will receive funding from the European Institute of Technology to promote training in innovation and entrepreneurship for their students, thanks to the EELISA UNFOLDS project. The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) is an independent body of the European Union: it co-finances projects pursuing innovation strategies through higher education and research activities. In line with the EIT’s new strategy for 2021 to 2027, it launched the HEI Initiative Call “Innovation Capacity Building for Higher Education Institutions”, which aims to help higher education institutions to develop the ability to teach innovation and entrepreneurship, with 27,5 million euros.

The Scuola Normale Superiore and the Sant’Anna School participated in the submission of the project proposal entitled EELISA UNFOLDS together with the other universities of the EELISA (European Engineering Learning Innovation and Science Alliance) Consortium to the EIT’s HEI Initiative Call, resulting one of the 23 winning consortia among nearly 750 organisations from across Europe.

The total grant is of 1 million and 200 thousands euros, that will be distributed among the various partners of EELISA, including the Scuola Normale Superiore, the Sant’Anna School, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, which coordinates the network, Budapest University of Technology and EconomicsFriedrich-Alexander University Erlangen NürnbergEcole des Ponts ParisTechPolytecnhic University of Bucharest. The EELISA UNFOLDS project also involves ARTES 4.0 as an associated partner, a Center of Expertise on Advanced Robotics and Enabling Digital Technologies in which the Scuola Normale Superiore and the Sant’Anna School also participate.

The objective of EELISA UNFOLDS (Unlocking Full innOvation capacity buiLDing and entrepreneurShip) is to convey research towards innovation, expanding the training offer for students with further knowledge related to entrepreneurship and developing specific training programs to provide education and mentoring in business creation.
