The Sant'Anna School is involved in the European project "Health Professionals' and the 'DigitAl team' SkillS advancement" (H-PASS), which is part of the European programme EU4Health, to supportEU Member States in developing the resilience of health professionals and overcoming difficulties in the provision of care due to their insufficient or lack of skills, especially digital skills. The theme of the project, in fact, is the training of healthcare professionals, which can lead to new ways of deliveringcare, changing care pathways, changing practice areas, and changing the 'professional-client' relationship. This acceleration of technology brings with it an inevitable opportunity to improve the skills of health care teams, the skill mix, the change of tasks, the upgrading of qualifications and the enhancement of skills.

In particular, the H-PASS project aims to design and deploy a training programme with specific modules and appropriate synchronous and asynchronous activities (containing dedicated materials and tools) for each of the 6 pilots, to be implemented in Italy, Cyprus, Greece, Hungary, Lithuania and Romania, in order to improve the transversal skills of clinical staff and to ensure that health professionals have up-to-date knowledge, especially in the digital context. The activities will be mainly dedicated to clinicians, nurses and pharmacists. There will also be a space dedicated to 'training the trainers' for more effective change management and to ensure a more efficient digital transformation of healthcare. Pilots will test and validate the new training programme and the innovative learning environment.

The involvement of the Sant'Anna School, in particular of the MeS Management and Healthcare Laboratory, concerns three of the six 'Work Packages' of the project. In particular, WP1 - Project Management & Evaluation, to ensure the day-to-day management of the H-PASS project and provide overall planning, coordinate actions and tasks and facilitate collaboration between the consortium partners during the entire project life cycle; WP3 - Programme Design & Content Creation, which defines the H-PASS training programme, its structure and sequence of course modules, as well as the list of components and contents for predefined groups of clinical staff; and WP4 - Development of training materials, to develop evidence-based training materials that are highly transferable to different countries and training contexts in the European Union.
