"Profondo Verde": a film series created in collaboration with Cinema Arsenale, aimed at discussing the phenomenon of "plant blindness." Four films introduced by experts from the Institute of Plant Sciences.

In our daily lives, plants are often perceived as mere background, a marginal element of the landscape. This phenomenon, known as plant blindness, unconsciously leads us to ignore the extraordinary complexity of the plant world and the essential role it plays in ecosystems. Rediscovering the value of plants is not only an environmental necessity, but also a cultural one.
To raise this awareness, Profondo Verde is born, a film series organized by the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in collaboration with the Cineclub Arsenale. The event, scheduled between March and April 2025, puts the plant world at the center through the language of cinema, capable of evoking emotions and sparking reflection.
A journey between science and storytelling:
Each film in the program will be introduced by an expert from the Institute of Plant Sciences, who will guide the audience in discovering the featured plant species, offering scientific insights and curiosities to help them see plants with fresh eyes.
