The RESTART research and development program, "RESearch and innovation on future Telecommunications systems and networks, to make Italy more smart", invites the national Telecommunications community (academia, research institutions, industry in the sector and users) to the Plenary Dissemination Workshop, scheduled to take place in Bari, Italy, on July 20 and 21, 2023. The public event, where the first results of the project will be presented and new activities planned, will be attended by Antonella Bogoni and Ernesto Ciaramella, professors of Telecommunications at the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies. Antonella Bogoni will give a presentation on "laboratories" on July 20, and Ernesto Ciaramella on July 21, as Chair of "Scientific Session 3: Optical technologies and networks".
RESTART is a research and development program funded by the European Union-NextGenerationEU with 116 million euros, representing the most important public R&D program ever carried out in Italy in the Telecommunications sector. An extended partnership funded by PNRR resources under the theme of Telecommunications of the Future that includes 25 partners including the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies, with the TeCIP Institute, which coordinates the components of the RESTART program dedicated to integrated photonic networks and technologies and optical systems for the space segment.
12 universities, 3 national research organizations and 10 private entities will collaborate together for 3 years starting January 1, 2023, with the ambitious goal of helping to outline the evolution of Telecommunications in Italy, revitalizing a sector that has professionalism and experience at the level of world excellence, devoting itself to the main themes of Telecommunications science and technology, including all types of related systems and networks, for human and non-human users.
