The LIFE-REWAT EU co-funded project (sustainable WATer management in the lower Cornia valley through demand REduction, aquifer REcharge and river REstoration; http://www.liferewat.eu) aims at implementing measures for the sustainable management of water resources of the lower Cornia valley in Tuscany. The 1st LIFE REWAT International Workshop on “Digital water and nature based solutions: innovative tools for sustainable water management” will be held on 10 September 2018 at Sant’Anna School, Pisa. The 2018 LIFE REWAT workshop will allow in-depth focus on specialized topics as well as new developments in climate change adaptation, increased resilience to climate-related natural disasters such as droughts and floods, nature-based solutions to improve water quality.

In the afternoon session “From pilot demo-sites/applications to large scale transferability: how to move innovations to the water market”, speakers will present real life case studies on the role of innovation in the water market and actions to enhance sustainable water management practices.

The workshop is organized in the framework of the European Innovation Partnerships on Water (EIP WATER; www.eip-water.eu) – Action Groups “Managed Aquifer Recharge Strategies and Actions” and ICT4WATER cluster (www.ict4water.eu). Participants will investigate concrete concepts and answer the following questions: What green/blue infrastructures can we design to incorporate natural systems, ecological value and water management? Are we ready to implement technological advancements in the water utility sector? Within the context of multiple services that benefit both “green” and “blue” objectives, will academics and experts offer a valuable support to resolve water quality issues?

Registration is free. Only 80 seats will be available. The Workshop language is English. We provide translation service in Italian language.
