International Day of Women and Girls in Science is celebrated around the world on February 11. Established by the United Nations on 22 December 2015, it recognizes the value and fundamental role of women and girls in the science and technology sector.

Since then, this day has been used to promote "full and equitable access and participation in science for women and girls."

The Sant'Anna School also celebrates this day every year by organizing events, exhibitions and talks.
