SCHOOL OF ADVANCED EDUCATION IN PHILOSOPHY OF ACQUI TERME

  • Lab/Research Area Dirpolis Institute

The Area of Public Ethics Research, at the Dirpolis Institute, organizes annually the School of Advanced Education in Philosophy in collaboration with the City of Acqui Terme (Alessandria), the Italian Institute for Philosophical Studies (Naples), the Department of Antiquity Philosophy and History of the University of Genoa and the Department of Philosophy and Science of Education of the University of Turin.

The event is divided into a series of lectures on topics of philosophy, humanities and political sciences held by lecturers and researchers from Italian and international universities, who are experts on the yearly theme.

The "School", born in 1998, is aimed primarily at young graduates, doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers in philosophy, humanities and political sciences, whose participation is facilitated by the availability of national and international scholarships. It is also realized as a refresher course for teachers and lecturers. More generally, the Acqui Terme's School of Advanced Education is an important opportunity for cultural participation and enrichment for the last year students of secondary schools, who are invited to participate in the different work sessions, and for every interested citizen.

The School of Advanced Education in Philosophy reached its 18th edition (Acqui Terme, Palazzi Levi and Robellini, 19-21 April 2017) in 2017, addressing the theme "Ethics as a Public Responsibility. Re-thinking corruption and legality today", in collaboration with ANAC (the National Anti-Corruption Authority).

The topics discussed, the programs and the list of the speakers of previous editions are available at the Premio Acqui Storia web site.
