Transitional, Distributive and Compensatory Justice in Responding to Global Challenges” is the new international workshop promoted by PostDoctoral Research Fellows from the Dirpolis (Law, Politics, Development) Institute. The workshop will take place on 27 and 28 October at Aula Magna Storica (Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna). The full program is attached.

Abstract

The twin transition, ecological and technological, requires innovative tools to address and solve high-impact societal problems related to work, social inclusion and justice, sustainability, decarbonization, and many other key questions. The International Workshop “Transitional, Distributive and Compensatory Justice in Responding to Global Challenges” is designed to be an interdisciplinary forum for discussion not merely on the opportunities brought about by the two transitions, but also on the risks that they may produce, starting from the exacerbation of inequalities and discrimination. Promoted by PostDoctoral Research Fellows from the Dirpolis Institute, the Workshop is designed to develop the “Governance for inclusive societies” theme of the Dirpolis strategic project, and involves researchers and professors from the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies and the University of Graz. The Workshop is also the concluding event of a well-established collaboration between the University of Graz's Climate Change Field of Excellence and the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna Research Group in Public Ethics, which carried out the “Joint Colloquium on Moral and Political Philosophy” from March to May 2022, a first joint seminar series on topics such as climate justice and the socio-political impact of new technologies.
