The project’s aim is to provide an innovative system for improving not only the emergency response but also the personalized healthcare delivery to patients. The envisioned system is based on a new device for assisting emergency first rescuer and on a artificial intelligence based patient dispatching in the emergency centers.

5G-SOSIA will be equipped with both an RFID Interface (Radio Frequency Identification) and a 5G interface. The RFID interface reads patients’ anamnesis related data, stored in an RFID patch, that patients can voluntary wear; or it reads patients’ folder identifying data, stored elsewhere, for instance in an electronic health data dossier. Such information is quickly sent to the emergency centers, where an artificial intelligence-based device will find the first nearest hospital available to admit that patient.

The potentials of 5G-SOSIA proposal are manifold: it will drastically improve the organization and management of patients’ emergency care by rescuers; it will shorten the time between first aid and the beginning of hospital personalized treatment. Moreover, the project has got the potentials for starting an advantageous technology transfer, since it will impact the community more than AED (automated external defibrillator).
