Bio

After graduating with a Master of Science in 2012 in Molecular and Industrial Biotechnologies at the University of Bologna, I spent a short period as a graduate intern at the Centre for Genomic Regulation in Barcelona. In 2017 I obtained a PhD in Biomolecular Sciences at the University of Trento. From then until 2022 I worked as a senior scientist at Explora Srl, in Venice. I joined the Microscale Robotics Laboratory at the Biorobotics Institute of Sant'Anna School for Advanced Sciences in 2023.

Ricerca

After years of experience in artificial cells I am currently contributing to the ERC-funded project CELLOIDS (G.A. 948590), focusing on strategies to provide microrobots with self-propulsion and autonomous movement. To reach this goal I am combining my knowledge in molecular biology and biochemistry with the engineering approach typical of synthetic biology.
