  • 10.28.2019. Prof. Alberto Pirni presented a talk titled '“Stability of Whom and for What? Rethinking the Challenge of Living Together in the Intercultural Age”' as invited speaker within the Interdisciplinary Conference: Migration, Stability and Solidarity at the Ruhr-University Bochum from October 28th to 29th. 

  • 27.09.2019. Dr. Alberto Pirni gave a presentation entitled "Per un’'idea trascendentale di democrazia. Un contrappunto kantiano” within the 84th Annual Conference of the Center for Philosophical Studies of Gallarate. The event, on the theme " Democrazia e verità. Tra degenerazione e rigenerazione ", was held in Rome from 26 to 28 September 2019.

  • 31.07.2019 Federica Merenda, Ph.D. Candidate in Human Rights and Global Politics, will present her research on "Artificial Intelligence (AI): the Ethical and Legal Challenges of having robots apply international law" at the AGORA Seminars on International Law, at the Max Planck Institute on Internaitonal Law and Comparative Public Law, In Heidelberg (Germany). 
  • 25.07.2019 Federica Merenda, Ph.D. Candidate in Human Rights and Global Politics, will present her paper on "Contemporary challenges to the ius cosmopoliticum: on the dehumanization of migrants and anti-cosmopolitan trends" at the Graduate Conference on "Cosmopolitanism and Global Justice in Practical Contexts" held at the MKE of the Ludwig Maximilians Universitat in Munich (Germany).

The Autonomous Weapon Systems (AWS) Case Study" at the XII Conference of the Standing Group on International Relations of the Società Italiana di Scienza Politica, on Global Politics in the Era of Disruptive Technologies. New Scenarios in an Old World?, Trento, International Politics Lab, 13-15 June 2019.

Israel Moura Barroso, PhD student in Human Rights and Global Politics, gave a presentation entitled "The ethical dimensions of the principle of fraternity anddeliberative democracy: the duty of thinkind and actingfor a common good", at the Scuola di Alta Formazione Filosofica di Acqui Terme, XIX Edition (Acqui Terme,Italy). The main topic of the XIX Edition was: "I doveri e la 'cosa pubblica'. Linee di etica per il cittadino e le istituzioni".

  • 20.05. 2019 - Marianna Capasso, PhD student in Human Rights and Global Politics, participates in the 21st Conference of the Society for Philosophy and Technology, Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas (USA), 20th-22nd May 2019, with a paper titled: “Autonomous Systems: a source of good? Towards an ethical analysis of the relation between humans and new technologies”.

Federica Merenda, Ph.D. Candidate in Human Rights ad Global Politics, intervenes in the International Conference on Applied Ethics organised by the Praxis Research Centre on Practical Philosophy - UniLisboa in Lisbon, presenting her work on "The artificial intelligence of Autonomous Weapons Systems (AWS): ethical issues and legal challenges raised by taking human out-of-the-loop".

Marianna Capasso, PhD student in Human Rights and Global Politics, was selected to speak at the conference “Politics and Image / Política e Imagem” at the University of Coimbra, with a paper titled: “Re-imagining democracy: The social beyond the political” (the paper was selected but the author was unable to attend the conference).
  • 29.10.2018. Il Dott. Alberto Pirni, insieme a Mirco Marchetti (Unimore) e Matteo Zattoni (Centro documentazione CRID – Centro di Ricerca Interdipartimentale su discriminazione e vulnerabilità), tiene all'Università degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia un Seminario nazionale nell’ambito del Progetto Interdipartimentale FAR 2017 “Il futuro dei veicoli a guida autonoma: soluzioni tecnologiche e profili etico-normativi per garantire resilienza a errori umani e attacchi cyber”, dal titolo "Autonomous driving e robotica: nuove sfide tra scienza giuridica, tecnologie informatiche, etica pubblica".
  • 11-13.10.2018. Il Dott. Alberto Pirni partecipa alla XIII Edizione del Multilateral Kant Colloquium, un grande convegno internazionale organizzato dall'Università di Catania con il supporto della Società di Studi Kantiani. Alberto Pirni presenta un contributo dal titolo "Kant as ante litteram theorist and critic of the moral enhancement".
  • 06.10.2018. Il Dott. Alberto Pirni è a San Pietroburgo per partecipare alla quinta edizione dell’International Research Conference “Mechanisms for formation of cultural exclusion and frontier zones”, organizzata dalla Russian Academy of Sciences in collaborazione con la Saint Petersburg State University. Alberto Pirni ha presentato un contributo sul tema "Intergenerational Dwelling: The Right to Transform, the Duty to Preserve", nell’ambito della Tavola Rotonda “The Problem of Identity in Cultural Exclusion Zones of the Urban Environment”.
  • 05.10.2018. Il Dott. Alberto Pirni partecipa alla giornata di studi “Political borders and cultural (self) exclusion” dell’Accademia Polacca delle Scienze di Roma con un intervento dal titolo “The challenge of living together”.
  • 26-28.09.2018. Il Dott. Alberto Pirni partecipa al workshop internazionale ‘Le parole e le cose: Un nuovo dialogo concettuale e nuovi strumenti per le scienze umane tra Europa e Brasile’, presso il Dipartimento di Lingue, Letterature e Culture Moderne dell’Università di Bologna. In questa occasione il Dott. Alberto Pirni presenta una relazione in un panel su Etica Pubblica, confrontandosi con il collega Iván Domingues della Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) – Brasile.
  • 27-29.09.2018. Il Dott. Alberto Pirni partecipa, in qualità di coordinatore del gruppo di lavoro su ‘Economia, lavoro, tecnologie, natura’, al LXXIII Convegno della Fondazione Centro Studi Filosofici di Gallarate, organizzato presso l’Auditorium San Domenico di Roma e dedicato al tema ‘Filosofia ed Economia’. Tra i relatori i Prof. Serge Latouche (Universitè de Paris XI), Gaël Giaraud (Universitè catholique de Louvain), Romano Prodi (Università di Bologna), Enrica Chiappero Marinetti (Università di Pavia), Stefano Zamagni (Università di Bologna).
  • 20-22-09.2018. Il Dott. Alberto Pirni partecipa al 63° Convegno di Ricerca Filosofica, organizzato dal Centro Studi Filosofici di Gallarate e dedicato al tema ‘L’Umano e le sfide della tecnica: questioni etiche’. In questa occasione il Dott. Pirni presenta una relazione intitolata ‘Uomo, tecnica, potere: questioni etico-politiche’.
  • 10-14.09.2018. Il Dott. Alberto Pirni partecipa all’ottava edizione dell’’International Symposium on Justice’ presso l’Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, a Florianópolis (Brasile).

Alberto Pirni è impegnato a Santiago del Cile presso la United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) in un duplice ruolo: relatore del Convegno Internazionale 'Rethinking development in a world in transition' e docente della 'Summer School for the Latin Economies'.
